Meetings:
Meetings v2 FAQ (Launched 5/17/2023)
Do all members of a scheduled meeting need to be registered with The Linux Foundation?
Yes. If unregistered members are added to a meeting, they will receive an invite in which they will be directed to register an LF account.
What happens if an invitee doesn't receive and invite for a scheduled meeting?
Have the user check all email accounts they have registered through LF. If a user has Alternate Emails tied to a Primary account, and an alternative email was used in the invite, the user will get the invite on their primary account's email address.
How long can my meeting be?
The max length for a meeting scheduled in the PCC is 10 hoursl
How many people can I invite to my meeting?
The max participants for a meeting scheduled in the PCC is 500. You can open a support ticket to request up to 1000 participants.
Mailing Lists:
What is the best method of creating mailing lists?
The best way is to link committees to the mailing lists when creating them.
Why can't I change the name of a mailing list?
Currently, you'll have to submit a ticket to perform a name change of a mailing list for your project in the PCC. Get Help With The PCC
Can I invite a mailing list to a meeting?
As of now, the only way to auto-invite users in meetings is to 1) share the public registration url (if it is a public meeting) or 2) add a committee. Once you add the committee in the setup section, you can invite the committee to the meeting that you are scheduling.
Committees:
When adding a member to a committee, why does the email for the user change to a different email address?
The user has multiple email address on their account. The PCC will always pick the primary address for the user.
As an example, say a user has MO@linuxfoundation.org and MO@hotmail.com. For this scenario, MO@linuxfoundation.org is the default email address for the user in that user's Individual Dashboard (Profile). If you try to add the user into a committee with MO@hotmail.com, the system sees that the hotmail address is an alternate email account on the primary account of MO@linuxfoundation.org. In order to change the primary address to the hotmail address, have the user make that the primary email address in their profile. Directions on how to do that are listed here: https://docs.linuxfoundation.org/lfx/my-profile/update-profile-information
If I'm a committee member for a project how can people tell?
Your membership to a committee will be listed on your Individual Dashboard (Profile). Log in to openprofile.dev and you will see your involvement listed under Community Roles.
What happens when I don't see my project role(s) listed on my Individual Dashboard (Profile)?
These are committee roles that are assigned by the PM's in the PCC. Have your Project Manager add you to a committee. Your Project Manager can also submit a ticket with the Member Support team for assistance.
I want to associate a committee from one project to a subproject's mailing list. Can I do that?
We don’t support cross-project association. Example - If there was a committee in a parent project but the mailing list was in a subproject, one would have to move the mailing lists up to parent project or move the committee to the subproject.
