Questions

How do I onboard my projects?

Projects will be onboarded via LFX Project Control Center (https://projectadmin.lfx.linuxfoundation.org) in the near future. For now, you can submit a request via https://support.lfx.linuxfoundation.org for onboarding during the Beta period.

Please note that during this time LFX Chat is in beta.

How do I create a community?

Communities will be managed via the LFX Project Control Center in the near future. For now, please submit a request at https://support.lfx.linuxfoundation.org

Who is responsible for moderation?

When a project creates a channel (either via LFX PCC or LFX Support) we expect that project to assign one or more moderators who can handle day-to-day moderation activities. You can file a support ticket for additional support as needed.

What is end-to-end Encryption?

End-to-end encryption is encryption between all users in a channel such that the server cannot read the messages. While it is a desirable security feature in many scenarios, it introduces a dependency on the users to not lose their keys.

If you lose your end-to-end encryption keys you will not be able to read your messages!

Can I brand LFX Chat for my project?

We currently support branding on community pages within LFX Chat (admins can edit the html description). You can share the community link with your project community and they will land on your branded community page.

Who can create channels?

Any user authorized by a project can create channels in LFX PCC. Until that is ready, users may submit requests to https://support.lfx.linuxfoundation.org
