How was the passing score determined?

The passing score for LF certification exams is set by a standards setting committee composed of subject matter experts from the industry and community. In conjunction with a psychometrician, the committee reviews and rates each task based on how a minimally qualified candidate would perform on that task. The ratings from individual committee members are then evaluated by the standard setting committee as a group until a passing score consensus is reached. Candidates must be able to earn a score that is at or above the passing score in order to pass the exam and to get certified.
