Software Tools Authorized For Use at the LF

Below is a list of software tools and services authorized for use by LF Staff and Contractors. LF manage these contracts, their renewals and annual budgeting with each vendor.  In some cases individual departments manage vendor agreements and associated relationships as identified in the "service owner" column.

If there is a software vendor or product that you want reviewed by the LF, and it isn't on this list, and it could be applicable to a group or larger audience at the LF, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Submit a request for  Budget (finance), Technical (IT) and Privacy review and approval  Please use the guide here Enterprise Software Requests guide

Step 2: You will require legal review and approval if you are engaging with vendors, tools or other platforms to which people may subscribe and potentially store community members' personally identifiable information on them.  Prior to individually approving ("clicking") any online vendor software terms of use, or agreeing to vendor license agreements (e.g. EULA), online or otherwise, please seek approval by submitting a separate legal JIRA service request here: https://legaljira.linuxfoundation.org/servicedesk/customer/portal/1

There are generally three classes of Software use at the LF: 

• Enterprise (LF staff)
• Backoffice (typically Product & IT)
• Project use (specifically for OS projects but not necessarily by the LF staff)
